Beer 'Event' - starting Thursday 1 November
The last few beer festivals have not sold as well as in previous years. With so many other pubs now holding them, we thought we might rein ourselves in a bit this year and just have a Beer Event rather than a Festival. The centre piece of this event will take place on Thursday 1 November, when the local CAMRA branch will kindly be presenting us with an award as CAMRA West Middlesex Club of the Year.
That night, we will have available the following five Champion Beer of Britain award-winning ales:
East London Brewing Orchid - 3.6% - Bronze Mild Award
Orkney Red MacGregor - 4.0% - Gold Bitter Award
Salopian Oracle - 4.0% - Gold Golden Ale Award
Mordue Workie Wicket - 4.5% - Gold Best Bitter Award and Overall Bronze Award
Dark Star Revelation - 5.7% - Gold Strong Bitter Award
and when any of those comes to an end we will have an old friend waiting:
Acorn Barnsley Bitter - 3.8% - Joint Bronze Bitter Award
plus other guests so that you can be sure that there will be five different beers on tap over the Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
There'll also be some interesting bottles in the fridge, but probably no cider on this occasion.
More details to come as they arise.
