Acting for All
Acting for All is a modular course for complete beginners. It takes place on Friday evenings between 8 and 10pm and you can join term by term in the autumn, spring or summer.
Whether you want to be on stage, appear in films or just gain some confidence, you will learn new skills in a fun, safe and social environment. During our autumn module, you will be introduced to the tools of an actor, feeding your creativity and stimulating your imagination. We will be looking at:
• How narrative works
• How to gain confidence in public speaking
• How to work within a team
• How to think ‘outside of the box’
• How to develop your imagination
• How to build a character
Throughout the term in this module we'll be working from a selection of
scripts, both classic and modern, looking at how an actor prepares for a
role.
How will I be taught and by whom?
Teaching will be done in groups, pairs and individually. Paul Whiting will be your tutor. Paul began his acting at QYT (Questors Youth Theatre) before going onto the Questors Academy. He then studied at Rose Bruford College of Theatre & Performance, and today works professionally. He is a founding member of the sketch-comedy companies The Errors of Comedy and Interference.
